Tacho generators deliver the information about the actual speed to the speed control unit by creating a voltage proportional to the speed. Therefore they form an essential part of the system and the quality of the tacho output signal defines the precesion of the whole control unit.
The linearity of the output voltage in relation to the motor speed as well as the ripple of the output voltage indicates the quality of the tacho generator. We offer tacho generators either as disk, bell or iron armature types; partly with hollow shafts.
